Pirates of the Caribbean Review. It'll take more than a few control problems to keep Jack Sparrow down. Pirates of the Caribbean will suck you in with its cool storyline, and its RPG-esque stat. I admire him so very much and believe that all did a very good job acting. Keira was, I believe, the most inexperienced one, yet she has landed herself in a new, very powerful and exciting role in 'King Arthur,' which I believe she deserved because of her acting in 'Pirates of the Caribbean.'

Pirates of the Caribbean PC Version Release 1.0 Windows Game June 30, 2003 Bethesda Softworks Ubi Soft Entertainment. If you are a fan of RPGs, I would highly reccomend this game. Bethesda Software had a big effect on the gaming industry with their release of 'The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind' and while 'Pirates of the Carribean' isn't quite as successful, it is nevertheless a good game. The game I ordered made it here in about a week after the confirmation was sent, so about 2 weeks total after order was placed I got it, but the disc wasn't in the condition that the seller said it was in on the review, I paid more money for it because he claimed it was in better condition, it hasn't affected the gameplay so far but those things tend to pop up right when the game gets good.

If you are a fan of RPGs, I would highly reccomend this game. There is amazing depth to this game and it will probably take you a few hours of gameplay to learn most of the ropes. This is something I enjoyed about the game personally. Some things you can do are: board enemy ships and take them over, command fleets, upgrade your ships, swordfight on land or at sea, sail from island to island importing and exporting goods, explore caves, fight your way through and take over forts. This game is a bit of a challenge when compared to traditional action-adventure RPGs, but being able to save your game at any time reduces some of the frustration. There are also alot of reports of glitches, but there was nothing major that stopped me from finishing this game. Check it out!

Do you guys know that you have all put your comments about the movie on the Video Game (VG) section .. have any of you played the video game? Which is about as great as the movie! well..wot can I say? The game is excellent! (and its not everyday i say that!) Trust me..just buy it and see for yourself. You can control a fleet of ships and even become a pirate yourself! Really worth the money.

this not the movie! it is a video game. OK with that out of the way i think this is a very good game (but the copy i have is very scratched so it freezes). the game has a very good story. This is how it starts out.. You are captain Nathaniel hawk. You are in Obay for repairs and to sell your cargo. you finish this and then you leave as the french take the colony. you then go to Redmond to tell the English governor. this is how the game starts out there is no Johnny Depp in this game. or Orlando bloom maybe Capitan Barbarossa as i am not that far in the game. I give the game seven out of ten stars. I deeply recommend this game to fans of the movie. even though it has very little to do with the movie.

Johnny Depp rocks as Captain Jack SparrowPermalink
I have seen this movie 12 times and I have yet to be bored with this movie. I don't know if it's just that Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom are so hot, but the acting is supurb also. Kiera Nightly does exceedingly well, espcially to be 17! If you've never seen this movie run out and rent it, buy it, what ever it takes, because it will entertain you forever! The first time I saw it I almost cried when they started to hang Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp, you build such a connection with these actors and actressess. I, and my friends, can literally sit around and recite the entire movie off the tops of our heads. My favorite scene would have to be seeing Johnny riding up to Port Royal on his sinking boat, and literally steps off the mast on to the dock. Oh, and I'm in love with Johnny Depp!

I loved Pirates of The Caribbean, Johnny played an excellent part and deserved way more awards then he got. Considering Keira Knightly was only 17 she did an excellent job I thought her part was brilliant. Orlando Bloom was great, i think that Johnny and Orlando make a good team together. I can't wait for number 2 to come out hopefully it is even better than the first one. The special effects were also really good, I think Geoffrey Rush is a great 'bad guy'.I can watch it over again and never get bored. I thought it was very funny and entertaining I rate it 10/10 and recommend it to anyone who has a sense of humor and loves pirates and looking at Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom.

Whoever tells you this movie isn't great is either lying or just very very stupid. The cast is amazing and work very well together. Johnny Depp is the most hilarious person on this earth. His performance as Jack Sparrow was the greatest thing I have ever seen!! Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom made a great couple in this movie and played their parts very well. Geoffrey Rush was great as Captain Barbossa. It's definitely the funniest movie I have ever seen, and I've seen it so many times I can quote practically the whole movie start to finish. It never gets boring, mostly because Johnny is so fantastically. well. strange is the word that comes to mind. It is one of his best performances ever. If you need a reason to go see this movie, there it is.

I read a comment that this film was Johnny Depp's 'gayest performance ever' and that the true acting came from Orlando Bloom. This outrages me! If that person knew anything they would know that Johnny Depp's character was DRUNK all the time.. which is why he had to ACT in such a manner.. and I don't have anything against Orlando Bloom but Johnny Depp by FAR had the best character in this Movie! You should look into things before you judge. Captain Jack Sparrow wasn't gay at all! in fact he was practically a womanizer!

Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl is a tale of adventure and excitement, Comedy and Romance and is set in the tropical Caribbean, in the 18th Century. It stars Johnny Depp as the classic Captain Jack Sparrow who is absolutely hilarious as a drunken, sometimes gay, cockney-accented, but yet charming, rogue of a pirate, who's only ambition in life is to get back his beloved ship 'The Black Pearl' and get rid of his corruptive 1st mate, the evil, black-hearted Captain Barbossa(Played by the very talented Geoffrey Rush) who stole it from him 10 years before. The overall plot is great, very exciting with fantastic fight scenes between the main Characters.(Two classic scenes are a fight between Jack and Barbossa, and another with Jack and The handsome, yet woosey Will Turner(Played by Orlando Bloom, who evidently needs more acting experience!) Will joins forces with Jack to go after his damsel in distress, the elegent yet fightful, Elizabeth Swann(Played by the very talented, young Keira Knightly) Johnny Depp is the overall hero of the movie and an absolute joy to watch. It is A MUST SEE for any adventure seeker, or Johnny Depp fan. See this and you will know why Johnny Depp got that Oscar Nomination he so well deserved!!! I give it 5 Stars!!!!!!!!!

As much as I agree with most people that this movie did not really have a 'storyline,' I enjoyed it so very much that I have taken the time to fashion myself a new name, e-mail and description.
Most of the majority of people that have watched this movie will agree with me that it is the most fun you had all 2003 summer. I believe that Johnny Depp is known for his most 'unique' character roles, and I look up to him for his confidence in himself that he is able to do this sort of role. Yes, Captain Jack Sparrow is on the gay side of the tracks, yet, he brings out the heart in the movie. He stands out from the rest and isn't afraid to speak his mind. I admire him so very much and believe that all did a very good job acting. 'Pirates of the Caribbean' is one of the best films I have ever seen. It is an adventure film which is very funny at it has some romantic touches, too. The veteran actor Jonhy Depp is excellent in his part as the old salt 'Jack Sparrow', Geoffrey Rush is the best choice for the part of the bad character and the attractive Orlando Bloom promises to turn into one of the most important young actors in Hollywood just like Keira Knightley. The exotic landscapes and all the setting are some of the best aspects of 'Pirates of the Caribbean', but I would critizise one thing: you would know the skeletons of 'Captain Barbosa' screw were made by computers, but it is great. I think I will never see a better pirates film. In fact, I have never been interested in this kind of films till I have seen this one.

This is actually my favorite movie. Although some scenes seemed a little fake, such as when Pintel and Ragetti go to kidnap Elizabeth and the butler opens the door and gets shot. I really don't think he'd fall down with his body completely stiff..but anyhee..I have watched this movie over and over again and haven't gotten sick of yet! I can't wait for 'POTC 2.' Anyone know the complete title of the second movie (EX: The first was called 'Pirates of the Caribbean: the Curse of the Black Pearl')? Well TTFN. Enjoy the movie! If you haven't seen it yet, that's a MUST!

The film Pirates of the Caribbean shows that in life there are constant battles between good and evil and one must choose between doing what is right and wrong. Although the main battle here is between the cursed pirates and the civilized army, there are two additional conflicts the film as well, one between Jack and the Commodore and another between Jack and the betrayed pirates.
The story begins with an abandoned pirate Jack Sparrow who must steal a ship in order to find of his stolen ship 'The Black Pearl'. After being captured, he is befriended by Will Turner who in turn needs Jack's help to find the Black Pearl to save Elizabeth, who has been abducted by the pirates. Of course, love plays a role in this underlying love story.
For example, the sword fighting scene between Will Turner and Jack Sparrow after Jack is chased into the blacksmith's workshop helps to support the theme. In this scene, the element of backlighting combined with the over-the-shoulder shots gives a shadowing effect that enforces the gloom of a battle between good and evil.
Perhaps the most revealing example of the fight between good and evil is the battle scene during the night between the pirates and the governor's army. With the element of lighting given predominantly by the moonlight, the cursed pirates are shown to be nothing but skeletons with clothes. The audience is assured that the pirates are in fact of the walking dead.
In conclusion, the relevance of following your heart and what you feel strongly about shows that, no matter the outcome of a situation, you can feel good about your decisions. In your heart you know whether or not you gave your all and made the right choice. The Commodore learned this the hard way. I have this game for the Gameboy Advance. I really thought it would be like the movie but it's not. What you do is try to 'steal Captain Barbossa's treasure'. That kind of disappointed me, but still it's a fun game. It's actually kind of a difficult game, but all in all i'd give it a 7 out of 10.

I borrowed this DVD from a relative. Thankfully I can give it back quickly. To be fair, the locations and action sequences are excellent, but the one thing that, for me, drags this movie down, is the performance of Mr. Depp. I know that some people say he is supposed to look drunk throughout the film but, if this is so, then his acting is even worse than i first thought. He is meant to be a magnificent Pirate Captain but, instead, comes across as a camp, pantomime performer. It is, in my opinion, a performance bordering on embarrassing and certainly not one to deserve an Oscar nomination. It's so hard to believe that Johnny Depp was directed to act this way.
To conclude, this is not a totally dreadful movie, the action and special effects are very good and there are some beautiful locations. Kids, in particular, will probably enjoy it and its not a complicated story but it's just so difficult to overlook what, for me, (cos I know he has a lot of fans), is an amazingly bad performance by Johnny Depp.

Jonny Depp and Will Turner are very cool!!!! But I like Jonny Depp in this movie. I was throb and very happy from beginning to end. Some contents are difficult but I did not get tired and watched till the last with interest. I like characters of Jonny Depp very much. Though he is a bad character, I cannot hate him for some reason. I like such place. While I watched the movie, I was absorbed and in love with Jonny Depp. As for the pirate, is immortal; become the skeleton with curse when it is night. There was slightly weird and fierce. So I think that I had better not show it to a small child. Though it was to a Part 3 product, a climax was surprising in unexpected development. There was pleasant, too. This movie is the first favorite while I looked so far. I recommend it very much.

My middle daughter kept telling me to watch pirates of the Caribbean but i kept saying i don't like pirate movies she said momma you'll love it i like Johnny depp anyway she bought it brought it over and we watched it needless to say i loved it johnny depp makes the movie its our favorite movie to watch when she comes over she has 2 kids they like it too they say mama put my pirate in i want to see captain jack and the pirates we all love the movie and are waiting for the next one id like to say that if it wasn't for johnny depps performance though i would'nt have liked the movie he is one of the few newer actors that i like and my daughters do too

Johnny Depp just keeps getting better! Pirates of the Caribbean was an amazing platform from which Depp expanded his already wide variety of character creations. From the carefully contrived, over emphasis on the attempt to swagger sober(almost every one has seen THAT in real life)to the richly accented slurred speech, Depp has created an unforgettable character. Burton and Depp forever! I have heard the comments about Captain Sparrow being gay. What's up with that? What gay fellow would be slapped by numerous voluptuous women over past indiscretions? By the way, Johnny's take on the slaps .. hilarious! I cannot wait to see the next 2 in the series! I'm sure Johhny will be brilliant .. as always.

I can't believe that anyone could not like the performance by Johnny Depp. The way he acted was very much the personality of a pirate in this time period. Also though I may not like Kiera Knitley I found that she did an amazing performance. You cant say that a woman in that time period can't act like a woman of today not EVERYONE has to fit a stereo type. I my self don't always fit to a stereo type. And Orlando Bloom did a very good job in this movie too. And the stunts in this movie were amazing.The sets were also very elaborate and awe-inspiring.And of course the costumes were beautiful.Overall this is a great movie that you just have to see.
